Leaders in the Field
Alice Delia, Ph.D.
Dr. Alice Delia is Laboratory Director at Prism Analytical Technologies. Dr. Delia manages Prism's Data Analysis Group and is the technical lead on all of Prism's air testing products, as well as in the analysis and interpretation of all test data. Dr. Delia received her B.A. in Chemistry from Kalamazoo College, and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from the University of Colorado. During her graduate studies, Dr. Delia participated in several large-scale air quality field studies. She has extensive knowledge of atmospheric processes and their implications for air quality compliance and safety. In addition, she is proficient in the operation of Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) instruments and performing the chemical profile interpretation of the GS-MS data. Since her arrival at Prism in 2006, Dr. Delia has been responsible for the development and deployment of several new methodologies for air quality testing in homes, including a new testing methodology for tobacco smoke detection using VOC markers. In a previous position as an Environmental Analyst at ASE, Inc., a subsidiary of Booz-Allen-Hamilton, Dr. Delia wrote and presented material to the DOD Environmental Cleanup Office and was involved in the preparation of the Defense Environmental Restoration Program Annual Report to Congress.
Dr. Steve Froelicher is a Senior Chemist at Prism Analytical Technologies. Dr. Froelicher received a B.S. in Chemistry from Northern Kentucky University and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Purdue University. His thesis work involved the use of Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry to study gas phase ion-molecule reactions. Steve has worked at Prism since 2011 and his interests include understanding and correlating VOC sources, improving and developing new methods for VOC and semi-volatile (SVOC) detection, and educational awareness of VOCs for the air testing community. Dr. Froelicher has also been an Adjunct Chemistry Lecturer at local universities for the past twenty years. He received the Mary H. Anderson Adjunct Faculty Award at Saginaw Valley State University in 2006 in recognition of excellence in teaching undergraduate chemistry.
