Emissions/stack gas monitoring
line

FTIR gas analyzers are gaining popularity as an ideal tool for stack emissions monitoring in regulatory compliance and engineering projects for the following reasons:

  1. FTIR gas analyzers can measure a broad swatch of the chemicals that require monitoring both organic and inorganic compounds

  2. FTIR gas analyzers have an inherent fixed calibration if configured correctly, so there is no span drift while trying to make critical measurements

  3. FTIR gas analyzers have relatively little, if any, zero drift due to the baseline always being collected

  4. Regulatory agencies including the EPA are no longer specifying specific technologies for most emissions tests

  5. FTIR gas analyzers do not require chillers to remove water, and can measure the water for analytical purposes

  6. FTIR gas analyzers can measure gases in 30% absolute water or higher

  7. FTIR gas analyzers can demonstrate compliance to EPA and ASTM methods through spike recoveries, so data are validated as collected

When FTIR gas analyzers are placed in the field, the
mistakes that occur are, in many cases, related to sampling
or poor collection methods.  Because of Prism’s breadth
of experience across numerous industries, these types
of mistakes can be prevented.
