Prism utilizes several methodologies to determine organic/inorganic vapor problems in the air. These methodologies include an array of air survey analyses using Prism’s proprietary Air Scan technology. For more detailed information on Prism’s technologies for analyzing air and gases, read "What is Air Scan?".
For investigating employee complaints, odor concerns, or determining general IAQ with a full spectrum VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) analysis, Prism recommends the solutions listed below. However, we can customize any analysis to your exact needs.

IAQ Check™
IAQ Check is an excellent economical screening tool for auditing general air quality in and around buildings. It surveys two important air quality parameters: Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs) and Total Mold Volatile Organic Compounds (TMVOCs). An air sample can be collected in as little as two hours and covers up to a 2,000 sq. ft. area. An analysis is then performed in the Prism laboratory that determines the total level of VOCs and MVOCs (chemicals given off from growing/active mold). If the recommended target TVOC level is exceeded and cannot be explained, our full TDT Air Scan™ analysis can be requested for an additional charge. There is no need to take another air sample, and, since the TVOC level is known, it will be known ahead of time that the results from the additional analysis will be useful in identifying the specific compounds causing the TVOC level to be too high.
Advantages of IAQ Check
• Low-cost IAQ analysis
• TVOC level is quantified and categorized as “Low,” “Moderate,” or “High.”
• One sample covers about 2,000 sq. ft. per zone per floor (subdivided) or 10,000 sq. ft. per zone per floor (open)
• Optional 350+ compound TDT Air Scan analysis is available without taking another sample (additional cost)
• A trained chemist is available to help with interpretation of the optional TDT Air Scan analysis results –
there’s no need for you to be an expert
