Method Name:
AS002-AR
Petroleum Aromatics
Marketing/Spec:
TDT Air Scan® Petroleum Aromatics is used to quickly and inexpensively identify ten of the most common petroleum aromatics found in the air. It utilizes Prism Analytical Technologies, Inc.’s (PATI) widest spectrum, multi-matrix thermal desorption tube (AS002). Petroleum Aromatics is especially useful for monitoring gasoline vapors inside buildings and for investigations into fuel and, gasoline spills or into plume migration under buildings using sub-slab sampling. After sampling, the sorption tube is sent to PATI for the quantitative identification of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, m,p-Xylene, o-Xylene, Isopropylbenzene, 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene, 1,3,5-Trimethylbenzene, Naphthalene, and 2-Methylnaphthalene. TDT Air Scan® is a combination of instrument technology and methodology developed by PATI that has a wide range of applications from personal monitoring, office buildings, and warehouses to industrial complexes and landfills.

Detection limits are in the 100 parts-per-trillion range. Sample collection requires a personal monitoring pump.
