Method Name:
AS002-HS-MS
High Sensitivity - GC-MS only
Marketing/Spec:
TDT Air Scan® is used to quickly and inexpensively identify what compounds are in the air. It utilizes Prism Analytical Technologies, Inc.'s (PATI) widest spectrum, multi-matrix thermal desorption tube that is designed to trap both polar and non-polar compounds. High Sensitivity Air Scan is especially useful for odor investigations since the odor threshold of many compounds is in the parts-per-trillion range. After sampling, the sorption tube is sent to PATI for the qualitative and quantitative identification of compounds using GC-MS only. Other compounds which may be present can also be identified and semi--quantified. TDT Air Scan® is a combination of instrument technology and methodology developed by PATI that has a wide range of applications from personal monitoring, office buildings and warehouses to industrial complexes and landfills.

Detection limits are in the 100 parts-per-trillion range. Sample collection requires a personal monitoring pump.

Features:
  • High sensitivity—25 times more sensitive than regular Air Scan
  • Semi-quantitation of other major compounds not listed in the 350 compound list
  • Encapsulated tubes for long shelf life
  • Easy shipping, handling, and storage
  • Reduced project time by quickly determining what compounds are present as well as what compounds are not present
  • Tubes can be ordered and shipped same day at no additional cost
  • ¼" Diameter tubes are common to personal exposure pumps
  • Data reduction is performed by experienced, degreed chemists
Applications:
  • Monitoring of work place background and exposure levels
  • Personal Exposure Monitoring
  • Sick building syndrome monitoring
  • Process changeover / process maintenance exposure
  • Sampling of enclosed areas
  • Surveying work areas
  • Odor complaints
