Our health is affected by our surroundings. Some factors go undetected while others are plain to the senses. Clean air is essential for a healthy body. For over twelve years, Prism Analytical Technologies, Inc. (PATI) has been providing its clients with air environmental technologies that not only safeguard their health, but also safeguard their businesses.

PATI is taking part in many improvement projects with innovations such as TDT Air Scan® and MoldScanPLUS™ analytical products. The goal of the Healthy Housing Project was to determine whether the living conditions of children with chronic respiratory illnesses were contributing to their symptoms. The results showed that in most cases things like gas leaks, mold and volatile organic compounds such as cleaning agents, paints, and solvents were prevalent in the air. Due to the findings of this project and others like it, steps can be taken to improve the living conditions of many people.

In coming newsletters, PATI will be introducing and describing a new expert service, such as MoldScanPLUS™, GreenScan™, and TracScan™. Often overlooked as a VOC resource, mold VOCs can be one of the most dangerous and destructive contaminates in the air. It can make individuals very sick, as well as destroy property and belongings. MoldScan PLUS™ will establish the amount of microbial activity in the air and detect mold without visual contact or spore sampling. MoldScanPlus™ is extremely accurate, as it is able to detect the presence of mold VOC to less than sixty parts per trillion, and can do so without the need for structural invasion or destruction. MoldScan PLUS™ includes a report of the total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) in the air and gives clients the option to add a full TDT Air Scan® analysis without having to take another sample.

MoldScanPLUS™

MoldScanPLUS™ is PATI;s most cost-effective screening tool for home of office use where molds are a concern.  In addition to determining the level of mold contamination, total VOCs are also reported.  If the TVOC level is low you have all the data you need.

If the TVOC level is high, a full 300+ compound TDT Air Scan analysis can be requested for an additional charge.  There is no need to take another sample and since you know the TVOC level, you know ahead of time that your TDT Air Scan results will be useful.

The added assurance that valuable information will be available if the additional TDT Air Scan analysis is requested gives you the confidence that you are doing the best job possible for your company or client.
