How long do I need to wait after the last of the painting, flooring, etc., in order to give accurate results on what the air quality will be longer term?

| Before sampling, you should wait an ablsolute minimum of 14 days after renovation; however, 30 days would be better. Waiting more than 30 days provides no additional benefit. During this time, air changes/hr should be increased. If you don't have a way to do this using your HVAC system, opening a few windows a crack will also work. Then, close the windows, wait 24-48 hours and sample. Remember, don't fry anything during the 24 hours before sampling or cook anything during the 6 hours before sampling. Be sure all interior doors are open during sampling. |

What is sub-slab sampling?
|

| Sub-slab sampling is done to look for and identify chemicals that are diffusing into the occupied space from under a concrete floor. The chemicals were spilled before the floor was poured, were spilled after the floor was poured and seeped down through cracks, or migrated under the slab through the groundwater. TDT Air Scan® is ideal for sub-slab sampling because there is no need to destroy the floor to take a sample of the soil/sand/gravel underneath. All that is needed is a 3/8 inch diameter hole through the concrete at the desired location. Place a sample tube 1/2 inch from the bottom of the hole and pull an air sample using a personal monitoring pump. TDT air Scan® surveys for over 300 compounds using one sample tube.
