Job Location:	Mt. Pleasant, MI
Requirements:	- BA/BS degree in chemistry or related field - Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices - Knowledge of chemical/physical principles, theories, and established methodologies sufficient to perform the full range of duties involved in conducting research projects, manufacturing troubleshooting, chemical analysis and development of material test procedures that are predictive of material performance in manufacturing - Excellent written and verbal communications and the ability to think critically
Responsibilities: (overview)	- Operates state of the art analytical equipment - Assists in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures, modifying laboratory procedures, and developing new analytical methods - Sets up tests, operates equipment, records data, and uses unsupervised discretion in the evaluation of data; often works without supervision - Interfaces with clients and outside vendors - Is responsible for the setup, assembly, use, maintenance, and calibration of equipment and processes; trains others - Periodically evaluates programs to assess their effectiveness and makes revisions to meet changing needs or improve effectiveness
Preferred:	- Working knowledge of GC-MS and/or FT-IR - Proficiency with computer applications such as spreadsheet, database management, word processing, etc. - Willingness to work flexible schedules
